Commissioned Work

John Berry has for many years been creating traditional pieces of jewellery to suit the requirements of his customers. Using the skills acquired preparing these commissions, he has been able to create more avant-garde pieces many incorporating unusual gem stones.

Presidents badge of office for the Insurance Institute of the Isle of Man in silver gilt and enamel. The central box section forming traditional construction for a badge of office with raised saw pierced letters carved Heraldic dolphins, champlevé and hand painted vitreous enamels. The entire piece hand made, no castings used or die struck parts. 5

Signet ring in 18ct Gold with intaglio crest: A traditional piece of British gentlemans jewellery, with a family crest carved entirely by hand, in the Intaglio style. 8

Heraldic hedgehog brooch in 18ct gold & platinum with emerald cabochon eyes.
The hedgehog cast from a wax model and then carved with finest detail. The platinum emblem, being the crest from the Coat of Arms of the Duke of Malmsbury then saw pierced and then carved, and applied to the hedgehog.

Diamond necklace: A client gave me a collection of various rings set with assorted qualities and sizes of diamonds and asked can you make me a necklace? This is the result in 18ct gold.
